'The Absolute Pinnacle of Consistency'
Quick question: Was there a faster time than Coleman Proctor’s 3.5 seconds in the 2021 National Finals Rodeo?
Short answer: No.
With a blistering turn in the ninth round with heeler Logan Medlin, the seven-time NFR qualifier earned $106,231 in Las Vegas in December. He ended the 2021 season with $198,986 and an eighth-place finish in the world standings.
Besides the win in the ninth round, the duo won the fifth round outright. Going so fast throughout the finals gave him a lot of confidence, Proctor says. “It was great to be able to go that fast and not feel like I was trying to go that fast.”
Thanks to legendary rope maker Guy Alford’s attention to detail and keen understanding of what these athletes need to succeed on the rodeo world’s grandest stage, Lone Star produces ropes that hold up to the competition year in and year out.
Proctor’s weapon of choice in the arena is The Fever head rope. This uniquely engineered five-strand head rope has a nylon/poly blend and features a multi-directional, double-twisted core to counterbalance the rope as a whole. With the small diameter and an unusual amount of weight, The Fever offers a unique five-strand head rope that is heat resistant and consistent in all elements.
Proctor, who competed in his 6th NFR in 2021, says the rope he uses, The Fever, is not only the fastest rope he’s used, it’s also smooth and reliable. Since the day he first picked one up, he’s never thought about using any other rope.
“I don’t know why anyone would use anything but The Fever,” Proctor says.
Proctor says the fast rope is also “forgiving” every time.
“The Fever has been the fastest, smoothest, most consistent head rope I’ve used in my life. I don’t know how Guy Alford designed this rope to never slide on the horn if you don’t want it. From my first Lone Star rope to the one I use today, The Fever has been the absolute pinnacle of consistency.”
Without question.
